Reports have been coming in from Brown County Residents about a phone call scam. One report describes a call where residents are told they won the publisher's clearing house sweepstakes. Police say scams
Authorities also say a lot of the time these individuals are looking for information involving identity theft.

The Mankato man accused of raping a North Mankato woman is back in Nicollet County Court today. 45–year–old John Thomas is challenging some of the evidence against him in the case including the handling of DNA evidence gathered. But in testimony this morning both the Forensic Examiner for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the nurse who performed the rape exam testified under oath that they followed proper protocol and procedure. Thomas faces four felony counts for allegedly forcing himself into the North Mankato woman's home and sexually assaulting her.
