Reports have been coming in from Brown County Residents about a phone call scam. One report describes a call where residents are told they won the publisher's clearing house sweepstakes. Police say scams
Authorities also say a lot of the time these individuals are looking for information involving identity theft.
A Mankato Department of Public Safety officer is allegedly assaulted early this morning in the emergency room.
Authorities say hospital staff at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato reported a patient being disruptive just after 3:30 a.m. Thursday. When a Mankato police officer tried to calm 23–year old Jennifer Michelle Johnston of Willmar, she allegedly hit the officer with a Mountain Dew bottle. Johnston was arrested and booked into Blue Earth County Jail.
Requested charges include 4th degree assault, obstruction of legal process and disorderly conduct.
