Family Centered Art Exhibit

Posted: Updated:

It's a family affair at the Carnegie art center this week.

Three different exhibits opening today, showcasing the work of two parent-child duos.

The first is a father and son exhibit of digital photography done by Wes and James Taylor.

The other two are works of a mother and daughter.

Joellen Preston, the daughter, shows off some multi media pieces... while mother Eileen Hines uses a loom for her fiber pieces.

Volunteer hope cook explains how the family connection was unexpected.

Hope Cook with Carnegie Art Center says, "it's a twist that wasn't planned. It just happened to fall into that. I think it's a generational thing. And it's interesting to see that children do tend to follow their parents in the arts."

The artists will be present for the opening reception this weekend.

Wes Taylor will be taking photos and showing guests some tips for digital photography.

Eileen Hines will be doing demonstrations with her loom.

The opening reception for these exhibits will be this Saturday night from 7 to 9 p.m.
