Roelofs, Schroeder are Female Preps of the Week

Posted: Updated:

The LCWM girls' basketball team is cruising this season, undefeated in the Valley Conference and 17–3 overall entering the week.

Seniors Tara Roelofs and Karina Schroeder give the Knights over two thousand reasons for their success.

They are combining this week to be our KEYC Scheels All–Sports Girls Co–Prep Athletes of the Week.

Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial seniors Karina Schroeder and Tara Roelofs have been playing basketball together for as long as they can remember, and playing the sport well.

This year they are making the transition for new head coach Todd Wiens pretty smooth.

Roelofs has over one thousand points in her career and is averaging over 19 points, 4 steals, and nearly 6 assists in her last season at LCWM.

While Roelofs attacks from the perimeter, Schroeder does more of her work in the paint.

The Knights' post also has over one thousand points at the varsity level, but Schroeder passed the one thousand rebound mark as well this season.

That's thanks to over 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game in her final campaign.

If the duo keeps giving the Knights the inside and outside threat, there is a good chance the team will finally make a trip to state this March.

That's why they're our KEYC Scheels All–Sports Girls Co–Prep Athletes of the Week.
