The family of a 15 year old boy who died after train hopping is warning kids not to do it.
Christopher Hanson and his friends had done train hopped numerous times before his death. They would jump onto a moving train as it pulled out the station then jump off when it started to pick up speed. Hanson was with two friends during the fatal incident, the other two jumped off without harm. His sister and mom knew he played this dangerous game and are coping with his death.
Mariah Hanson says, "He liked to laugh about it and I was with him a couple times when he did it and I always told him to get off." Mother Melissa Standal says, "We talked about it on Wednesday night actually. Me and the friends and Christopher and then the next day he died."
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that Hanson died of multiple blunt force trauma to the head. Hanson's parents told his friends they could honor Christopher by never train-hopping again. A fund has been set up to help the Hanson family. You can donate to the family by contacting any Wells Fargo bank.
