The last time this building was occupied full-time by grades 4th-6th was the 2009 and 2010 school year. Since closing its doors, the school district saved $190,000. Superintendent, Dick Orcutt says,
The JWP school board voted 4 to 2 Monday to sell the building for $1 to the Southern Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

The man who runs the Secret Service apologized on Capitol Hill this morning for the conduct of agents speaks out about on the Columbian prostitution scandal.

One man is dead and three other people are seriously injured after an apparent home invasion early Monday morning. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the Blue Earth Police Department and the Faribault County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
Authorities say Blue Earth officers responded to a disturbance call around 12:30am Monday. That call was to a home in the 400 block of 4th Street East. Officials say a masked man entered the home and assaulted the man and two women. The 38 year old man was dead, and two women and a juvenile girl suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital and then transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. A six-year-old girl in the home was unharmed.
Police do not have a suspect identified in this case, nor do they know what the weapon was that the attacker used.
