The last time this building was occupied full-time by grades 4th-6th was the 2009 and 2010 school year. Since closing its doors, the school district saved $190,000. Superintendent, Dick Orcutt says,
The JWP school board voted 4 to 2 Monday to sell the building for $1 to the Southern Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

Gas prices around the country seem to be going in one direction lately, up, up way up. Due to recent turmoil in the mid east gas prices not just in the U–S but all over the world have increased drastically in the last couple weeks. According to Minnesota Gas Prices.com in Minnesota prices grew last week and now average $3.41 a gallon. In some places though prices are higher like in Los Angeles where the prices at some gas stations are pennies shy of hitting the five dollar mark –way above the national average. Experts expect the prices to continue to increase through the spring into the summer driving season and some say that five dollar a gallon gas might be in the very near future for cities like Los Angeles.
