Santorum Continues To Surge in Polls

New poll numbers show Rick Santorum is still surging ahead of the Republican pack. He's fighting to hold on to that lead especially in Michigan, the home state of his rival Mitt Romney.

On President's day, Rick Santorum is campaigning in Ohio and gaining momentum across the country The latest Gallup survey shows Santorum leading the pack of GOP presidential hopefuls. He's now 8–points ahead of Mitt Romney and focusing his attacks on President Obama.

Santorum is also fighting to hold his lead in Michigan. He's hoping to defeat Romney in his home state next week. But the former Massachusetts Governor is striking back. He's heading there Tuesday, for a speech on the economy. The latest poll of Michigan voters shows Romney gaining ground. Newt Gingrich is looking to the south for a comeback on Super Tuesday next month.  The Super PAC supporting Gingrich is about to get a big cash infusion. Billionaire Sheldon Adelson has pledged another 10 million dollars to keep Gingrich's campaign alive.

Ron Paul is still in the hunt, as well. His campaign is focusing on caucus states hoping to pick up enough delegates to have Paul play a big role in the GOP Convention this summer in Tampa.
