North Manakato -
A North Mankato radio station is re-tooling its airwaves.
95.7 'The Blaze' has gone away in favor of a new FM talk format. The station made this switch at 11 A.M. on Monday.
The frequency will broadcast news as well as various professional sporting events.
Three Eagles Mankato says the FM talker is the only one of its kind in Southern Minnesota.
"We found that there was a need for an FM news talker in the area, and FM news talk has become more contemporary, more popular," said Brad Steele of Three Eagles Mankato.
Three Eagles Mankato says the move is a good one since 70 percent of all radio listeners don't use their AM dial.
