Different counties often have to deal with similar issues, that is why Tuesday Nicollet and Brown County Commissioners decided to compare notes at a joint meeting.
One item on the agenda, possibly hiring a probation officer for the counties to share. Commissioners use the meeting to discuss joint ventures and learn from each other.
Nicollet County Commissioner Bruce Beatty says, "Its kind of like what are you doing, how many have you don't, have you started doing it, what do you find are the difficulties? See it's a good way to just get some good ideas and answers from other people."
Nicollet County has been meeting with Blue Earth and Sibley County Commissioners for years, but recently decided to also meet with Brown and Le Seuer Counties.
