Ceylon is a town of around 400 people and a close-nit community. Here news spread quickly of the Monday morning home invasion in Blue Earth and then authorities name the suspect: Brian Freeman of Ceylon.
He's accused of killing Christopher Fulmer and seriously injuring his wife Candice Freeman and her daughters inside this Blue Earth home.
Eastman says, " He goes to work everyday, she takes care of the kids and she goes to work and the kids go to school it's just a shock, especially in a small town."
Danielle Eastman is the Freeman's neighbor and says she never noticed anything out of the ordinary or if there were any martial problems between Brian and Can dice Freeman.
Eastman says, "I lived next door for two years and they were always really nice people and good neighbors. So I was surprised when I heard the news."
The suspect, Brian Freeman, was a volunteer firefighter, however, the chief of the Ceylon Fire department did not wish to comment.
Ceylon Resident, Mary Muller says, "We are absolutely in shock in this town.
Things like this don't happen here, we're concerned about the family and hope Candia and the girls pull through and we're here."
St. Mary's Hospital is not releasing the condition of Can dice Freeman and her daughters, saying it remains an ongoing investigation at this time.
