The  Muppets were honored Tuesday with their own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

Kermit made his first television appearance in 1955 on the Washington, D.C. local television series, "Sam and Friends."

The  Muppets have been an integral part of "Sesame Street" since the series' debuted in 1969.

And from 1976–81, The  Muppets had their own series, "The Muppet Show," which won four Emmys and a Peabody.
