MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Amy Senser's attorney says she reacted with fear and shock to being found guilty of two felonies in a hit-and-run that killed a man.
Senser testified at her trial that she never saw Anousone Phanthavong (ah-NOO'-sahn PAN'-tah-wong) when she hit him near a freeway exit ramp in Minneapolis last August. But a jury found her guilty Thursday of leaving the scene and failing to report an accident.
Her attorney Eric Nelson says Senser ``wants the world to believe'' she is telling the truth.
Nelson says Senser isn't the type of person who would knowingly leave a man on the road to die.
Senser will remain free until sentencing July 9. Prosecutors are calling for four years in prison, but Nelson says he will appeal.
