MANKATO, Minn. -

You have probably seen the websites that help you track your family history, but did you know you can find a lot of that information at your local library or historical society?

People can learn to do just that this weekend at the Mankato Family History Conference.

The conference will offer new and veteran historians the opportunity to learn about new tips and tricks for successful genealogy research. Attendants can learn how to analyze old records, use DNA to find out about their family health history, and more.

The Blue Earth County Historical Society Executive Director Jessica Potter says, "It's trying to get you maybe away from the computer behind ancestry and get into where those primary resources can be found an then to be able to build a strong, more in–depth family history."

Registration for the conference opens tomorrow morning at 8:30 am at the MSU Centennial Student Union. The conference costs forty–five dollars and will last until 5 p.m.
