Once kids finished collected candy from the parade many participated in the annual pedal pull competition.
Organizer Don Oechsle says around 125 kids participated today, ages 4-11. Pedal pulls are a popular event at state fairs and town festivals, kids pedal on a small tractor that pulls a sled with weight increasing the further forward they push.
D&S Pedal Pull Organizer Don Oechsle says, "Some kids are just a natural and some aren't. It's just like any sport, golf or you know."
The top three kids will advance to the state pedal pulls September 8th. There still a chance for you child to enter, Oechsle will be holding a pedal pull at the Mankato fun days on Sunday July 8th.
