Mankato -
One man is in jail after a disturbance in front of the Cherry Street bus stop early Saturday morning. 24 year-old, Ruben Eugene Jones, of North Mankato was arrested.
Officers arriving at the scene broke-up a fight on the ground involving several men; including Jones. When the dust settled, authorities were able to sort things out. Mankato Department of Public Safety, Police Commander Pam Hermanson, said "Two citizens who had the suspect pinned-down on the ground and he was spraying an automotive chemical-type substance in people's eyes." Victims of the chemical attack were treated at the scene.
The entire incident was caught on video surveillance from cameras located downtown. Requested charges include; third degree assault, disorderly conduct, and disruptive intoxication.
