MANKATO, MN -

Slow commute on 169 this morning after an accident there... South Bend Fire crews were called to the scene just before 9 a.m.  The accident occurred just south of Mankato.

Minnesota State Patrol reports a Pontiac, driven by 38 year–old Jerimie Goettlicher of Mankato, made a left turn in front of a Jeep, driven by 21 year–old Brandon Omtvedt of Madison Lake.

Traffic was slowed down to one lane while the clean–up and investigation went on. Authorities say the two appeared to be injured.  Gold Cross Ambulance was on the scene, but both men refused medical treatment.
