MANKATO, MN -
As Director of Curriculum for District 77 in Mankato, Cindy Amoroso is no stranger to the spotlight. She is committed to making our schools a better place to learn. But she also volunteers to make the greater Mankato community a better place to live. Cindy says, "Its important for me to find a way to give back and find a way for me to see what I can do to help better my community. I look for those organizations that may be looking for additional help, expertise, time from me as a community member."
The organization she found is the United Way which serves not only Mankato, but Nicollet and Le Sueur Counties as well. " I believe strongly in the work of United Way Mankato, I have had different roles over many years and continue to see investment paying off in work they do." Her current role is chair of the Women With Heart Luncheon, a luncheon that kicks off The United Way campaign and hopes to engage women from all facets of the community.
Cindy says, "Mankato has given a lot to me and my family over the years. I've had great opportunity here and this is a chance for me to give back. I also believe strongly in Mankato as a community. We have a lot of wonderful things in this community and many opportunities for people who live here."
