Minnesota employers added 72–hundred jobs in June, stopping a three month stretch of job losses.

Even better news: the Mankato MSA led the way in job growth, tacking on a thousand jobs last month.

According to the Department of Employment and economic development, year to year figures show Mankato with a 3.1 percent job increase, that leads the state.

Our area is up 1400 jobs from last June, the 22nd straight month that's happened.

Jonathan Zierdt with Greater Mankato Growth says that slow and steady increase is the best kind.

Zierdt says, 'We like to see the kind of continued strides that we're making without anything that spikes too wildly in anyone direction; it's much more sustainable that way.'

Overall, the jobless rate for the state stayed at 5.6 percent for a third month,

Minnesota's unemployment rate remained significantly below the national rate of 8.2 percent in June.
