WASHINGTON D.C. -
Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann isn't letting up she is now accusing a fellow Minnesota Congressman, Democrat Keith Ellison, of having associations with the Muslim Brotherhood, a fundamentalist group with political strength in Egypt.
Bachmann has been under criticism from lawmakers in both parties for insinuating that a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has family ties to the group. Ellison, who represents a district adjacent to Bachmann's, has conde mned her remarks, Bachmann continues to fight back.
Despite this week's controversy surrounding her, Bachmann and Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin are among the top five U.S. House candidates nationwide in money raised during the current two-year election cycle. The Center for Responsive Politics says Bachmann raised $14.8 million in that time frame.
