Crop Insurance Claims Expected To Spike As A Result Of Dry Weather

Posted: Updated:

Crop-insurance agents say they expect to see a large volume of claims heading their way.

Spokespeople for Crop Revenue Technologies near Mapleton say they've been fielding numerous calls from area farmers about damage.

Many growers are expecting lower production levels this season, thanks to the dry weather. As a result, crop adjusters say many farmers will be filing claims as a result of the lack of moisture.

"We're visiting with our guys almost on a daily basis saying you know 'we had a field that didn't pollinate, we got production concerns here,'" said Jeff Moore of Crop Revenue Technologies.

Crop adjusters say prior to claims being processed, growers will need to produce harvest reports this Fall detailing yield losses.
