Lubbock, TX -
A piece of rock and roll history was rolling down an interstate in Texas today. The house where the famous Buddy Holly song "That'll Be the Day" was written was moved to its new home.
The house is where Buddy's Holly's best friend, Jerry Allison, grew up. The two of them wrote the song that put them on the map. Several years ago the home was going to be demolished as part of a neighborhood renovation. That's when a local builder and Buddy Holly fan stepped in to save a piece of music history.
The house can now be viewed by all music fans at the buddy holly center in Lubbock, TX.
By the way - Buddy Holly's home was used on a hog farm and later burned to the ground. But at that time - no one was aware that was the famous house.
