What's old is new again for the Mankato East football program.
The Cougars welcome back Eric Davis as head coach this year.
Davis spent three years with MSU as an assistant coach and last season actually found him on the Mankato West sidelines assisting the Scarlets.
Now that Davis is back in black and gold, the players are ready for him to lead Mankato East back to the success they were known for under his watch.
The Cougars get to start this season where last year ended.
Marshall eliminated Mankato East from the playoffs in 2011.
The Cougars want to show the Tigers and football followers that they are a serious team.
Davis says the top goal of his first year is to play winning football, and if they are doing things right, the wins and losses will take care of themselves.
Mankato East opens the season at Marshall on Friday August 31st.
