Mankato Ranks Well In New School Rating Report

MANKATO, MN -

The State of Minnesota released new results on school districts today. Multiple Measurement Ratings is a new system designed to replace 'No Child Left Behind.' The system focuses on four categories: proficiency, growth, achievement gap closure, and graduation rates. In the Mankato School District, multiple schools ranked high under the system. Washington Elementary is designated as a 'reward school.' Three other elementary schools, including Jefferson, Kennedy, and Rosa Parks were denoted as eligible for celebration status. Priority and focus-rated schools are the institutions that need the most improvement, according to officials. I-S-D 77 does not have any schools that fall into either of those two categories.
