It took much of the first quarter for anyone to score, but Mankato West lit the scoreboard when Trenton Marks scored the first of his three touchdowns. Sophomore Ryan Schlichte had a monsterous first start taking over for Philip Nelson, completing 13 of 22 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Schlichte would leave with an injury at halftime and would not play in the 2nd half. The Scarlets wouldn't need him as the defense pitches a shutout going on to win 35-0.
