The DuPont Pioneer Research Center In Mankato is expanding
Construction has already started on the two–point–five million dollar expansion.
The project will consist of expanding the seed processing area, remodeling offices and building a large machine shed and shop.
DuPont Pioneer Research Fellow Dean Christensen says, "This is going to allow us to expand our testing facility, the # of plots that we plant, and the kinds of hybrids we develop, so the overall benefit should be better products for our growers."
The Research Center has helped develop hybrids to help Minnesota farmers increase productivity on local acres for 54 years.
The expansion is scheduled to be complete in June of 2013.
