According to the Center for Disease Control, car crashes are the number one killer of teens in America. The first year on the road as a new driver is the most dangerous. A special rally at Mankato West this evening is once again addressing the issue. State Farm Insurance is partnering with the school to host an event from 5 to 7 that will include games and activities to show students the dangers of distracted driving. It is free and open to the public. Teens will also have a chance to sign a pledge that they will not text and drive. Hatanpa State Farm Insurance Agency will be presenting a $2,500 check to West to help the school establish safe driving programs in the school.
