ST. PETER, MINN. -
Gustavus shows its appreciation for the community of St. Peter today at Celebrate St. Peter Day.
The annual event is a way for Gustavus to honor and thank the community that has served as a home for the College since 1876.
Community members were given a special invitation to explore the campus, go to the football game, and attend to the fall festival at the Linnaeus Arboretum.
Administrative Assistant at the arboretum Shirley Mellema says, "It's kind of a hidden treasure, very few people seem to be aware of it, I'm still after all these years getting calls from all the people asking permission to come here, and I say this is your arboretum."
The Fall festival featured music, local crafts, and plenty of family–friendly activities. Organizers of the festival hope that after people see what the Arboretum has to offer, they will continue to come back.
