WASHINGTON D.C. -
Mitt Romney is moving forward and refusing to apologize for controversial comments he made at a fundraiser. Instead he believes the remarks highlight the differences between him and President Obama.
Mitt Romney is in the South today raising cash and looking to contain fallout from a secretly recorded video. On the tape Romney tells donors it's not his job to worry about votes from the 47 percent of Americans who don't pay federal income taxes. But the GOP presidential candidate is not backing down from his comments. During interviews and on the stump, Romney is arguing too many American rely on the government for economic help.
Romney is facing a new challenge today in critical swing states. The latest poll of likely voters shows President Obama leading Romney by six points in Wisconsin. The President also leads in Virginia by 4 points and is up by one point in Colorado.
President Obama is spending the day at the White House after a fundraising blitz last night in New York and a visit with David Letterman. The President did not pass up the opportunity to remind voters he works for all Americans.
In the coming weeks, President Obama and Mitt Romney will square off in three debates, the first in Denver. While the President is inching ahead in some polls, analysts say this race is still very tight and could easily swing either way in the 7 weeks before Election Day.
