Young Life Youth Ministry Hopes To Expand

MANKATO, Minn. -

Hundreds of Mankato West students wrapped up their homecoming week with a special celebration over lunch.

The party was hosted by a new youth ministry program in the area called Young Life. Young Life reaches out to youth through mentoring, group activities and club meetings.

Area director Travis Bowen says, "Our leaders love Jesus, it is a Christian organization, but they really just love high school students and they are positive mentors in their life."

Student Jordan Feist says, "Young Life is huge just to get everyone together and show them that hey we can love Christ together and we can all just have a good time doing it."

Student Alex Denhof says, "Even if you don't love Christ they'll just accept you for what you are and that the best thing about Young Life."

Young Life has been around for 60 years but just started in Mankato a year ago.

Most of the students involved are from Mankato West, but the group is hoping to expand to other schools in the area. If you would like more information about Young Life, go to the Young Life Mankato Website.
