MANKATO , MINN. -

A Mapleton woman is in critical condition after a crash in Mankato this morning.

According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Department, 75-year-old Muriel Wilson and her husband, 80-year-old, Mylan Wilson, were headed north on County Road 16 at the LeSueur River Dip. Muriel apparently lost control, overcorrected, went through a guard rail and then off the road down a steep embankment. The car struck a large tree about 75 yards from the road. Both people were wearing their seatbelt. The airbags deployed.

Both were initially taken to Mayo Clinic Heath System in Mankato by Gold Cross Ambulance.  MCHS officials told News 12 that Muriel has been transferred to Rochester and is still in critical condition.  Mylan is listed in fair condition at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
