Mark Anders Chalin of St. James entered an Alford plea to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide.

23-year old Amber Menezes of Mankato, a passenger in Chalin's car, and 35- year old Jonna Martin of Lakefield, who was driving another vehicle, both died in the crash, which happened on August 7, 2011.

State Patrol said Chalin's car was heading east in the westbound lane on County Road 90 when the cars collided head on.

Officers say they were looking for Chalin's vehicle at the time of the crash after receiving complaint calls about his driving, including a report that his passenger was on his lap at the time.

Sentencing is set for December 10th.
