MANKATO , MINN. -

Thousands are flocking to Gustavus for its annual Nobel Conference. Titled "Our Global Ocean", this year's conference focuses on the wonders of the ocean. Nobel Conference co–chair Joel Carlin says Minnesota may be more than a thousand miles away from any oceans, but everyone is affected by them. Carlin says, "We are all connected with the sea, but I think we get caught up in our busy lives and forget about that, so the Nobel 48 is here to remind us of that."

The first lecturer David Gallo talked about the Titanic and proved that science doesn't always have to be serious. The conference wraps up tomorrow. General admission tickets are still available for $65.
