Saint James has long produced great tennis players, and this year is no different.
News 12 Sports Erick Lind says Aryn Eckstrom is not just the latest top player for the Saints,
She is one of the top players in the state and she's our KEYC Scheels All–Sports Girls Prep Athlete of the Week.
Aryn Eckstrom is one of the gentlest people to talk to off the tennis court, but get her between the lines, and she becomes one of the fiercest competitors in the state of Minnesota.
Eckstrom makes sure every ball is returned with great energy and effort on the court.
Her coach says when she faces some of the best in the state it brings her game to another level.
Eckstrom has evolved her game in the program starting freshman year as the number–three singles, then spending sophomore and junior years at number two, before taking the top spot as a captain for the Saints in her senior year.
Her final high school season has seen her post a 21–2 record to this point as one of the premiere singles players in southern Minnesota.
Eckstrom is up to 110 career wins and is looking to improve on her past two trips to state.
If she can make it through sections once again, she could make a deep run at state this year.
That's why she's our KEYC Scheels All–Sports Girls Prep Athlete of the Week.
