NEW ULM, Minn. -

The Swedish royalty may have left southern Minnesota, but New Ulm has a royal visit of its own this weekend. The Prinzenpaar and Prinzessin of the German–American Mardi Gras Association marched in New Ulm's German–American Day Parade. The weather was a little chilly, but lucky the royalty dressed warm for the event. German–American Mardi Gras Association Prinzessin Patricia I Sandin says, "It was very comfortable the convertible was very nice the wind was on our back and the only thing was a couple of snowflakes."

Prinzenpaar, Darrel Schenk says, "It's a great tradition that came out of a royal wedding and ill tell you what you know what a deal."

The event is part of New Ulm's 31st Oktoberfest. The Prinzenpaar and Prinzessin are staying in New Ulm for the weekend to celebrate the annual event.
