ST. PETER, MINN. -
When Nicollet County Administrator Bob Podhradsky announced he would retire after 22 years, the county new they would have some big shoes to fill.
County Human Resources Director Jamie Haefner says, "This position holds the ultimate leadership for all of our county department heads, how we all work together, how they're communicating with our citizens."
Back in March the county got its first round of applications, held interviews, and narrowed it down to three.
County Commissioner James Stenson says, "That selection of candidates we weren't able to come to a decision."
Haefner says, "It's a really significant decision in regards to making sure we have to right leader to bring our county into the future."
So the county started over again...and again, narrowed it down to three, but this time they are confident they will find someone to relieve interim Administrator Bridgette Kennedy
Stenson says, "Any one of these 3 candidates are qualified to do the job, so I don't think there should be a problem in selecting one of them."
The 3 finalists are Patrick Wussow, current Aitken County administrator, William Schimmel Junior, the city administrator in Stewartville, and Ryan Krosch, the current administrator for Yellow Medicine County.
Haefner says, "We are feeling very confident that we have our county administrator in this pool, this time around, so feeling very good about our 3 candidates."
The board will interview the finalist on Monday and make its decision from there.
If you want to size up the candidates yourself, the interviews are open to the public and start at 8:30 A.M. in the county boardroom.
