WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN -

Local law enforcement in White Bear Lake staged a surprise simulation of a bomb threat on the campus of Century College on Sunday.

The drill, which officials say was a training exercise designed to prepare for real emergencies, was conducted in part due to a spate of recent shootings.

During the drill, a false bomb was disarmed, seven students simulated being shot, while the "gunman" was apprehended.

The drill has been in the works since January.
