Tuesday kicks off the "Bundle Me Warm Campaign" with people lining up bright and early outside the building. The Salvation Army provides coats, mittens, gloves, any warm weather gear to those in need this winter. The organization provides more than 5,000 pieces of winter wear each year, so administrative assistant Heather Spann says they can always use more donations.
Spann says, "I know myself, I have three kids and as you're going through every year when they outgrow things we're always looking for a place that I can take that stuff. I think it's convenient and I think it feel good. We all live in cold Minnesota all winter long, and it feels good to know that the things you don't need to use anymore, somebody else can use."
She says there is a strong need for infant, toddler, and plus sizes. This is also the time when families can sign up for Christmas programs through the Salvation Army.
