Vote Yes Supporters Speak Out

MANKATO , MINN. -

On the other side of the coin, 'Vote Yes' is also making a push at people going to the polls.

Signs can be found on many front lawns. Susan Hunter of Mankato is one of those who has a vote yes sign sitting outside her front door.

"I don't feel hateful toward homosexuals, but this particular issue is important for our society," Hunter said.

And speaking of society, Father John Kunz of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato says rewriting the definition of marriage in Minnesota would be detrimental.

"It's probably not for the common good," Kunz said. "It's not good for the children and the family that we all of a sudden change that definition of marriage and make it something else."

While many 'vote no' signs can be found as well, some argue the marriage definition should be kept as is.

"Marriage between a man and a woman is an absolute value and it's been that way since the beginning," said Hunter.

Voters will decide on the amendment during the general election, which will take place on Tuesday November 6th.
