A tale of two cities and volleyball results on Thursday night in subsection tournaments.
New Ulm saw two upsets as two seeds beat the number ones. First BOLD defeated Springfield 3-1 to take the 2-A North title, followed by Martin County West taking down LCWM in straight games 3-0 to grab the 2-A South subsection. The two winners will meet Saturday at 6 o'clock at Gustavus Adolphus.
Gustavus was the site of the sub-section championships in 2-AA on Thursday. Top seeded Belle Plaine beat Mound Westonka 3-1 to win the North sub-section. The South sub-section saw LeSueur-Henderson sweep Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 3-0. Belle Plaine will meet LSH Saturday at 7:45 at Lund Arena once again.
