As the sun rose over the shattered community of Moore, the state medical examiner's office cut the estimated death toll by more than half.
As the sun rose over the shattered community of Moore, the state medical examiner's office cut the estimated death toll by more than half.

The state's firearm deer opener turned deadly near Bemidji.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says 66-year-old Don Bixby was killed on Saturday. He was shot as he stood next to a pickup truck.

Authorities say the other hunter who shot Bixby is from Bemidji, and the two men are acquaintances but were not hunting together.

The incident is still being investigated.
