ECHO Food Shelf has started preparing complete Thanksgiving meal packages for families to cook at home.
Last year, the food shelf passed out 1133 Thanksgiving meal baskets.
With demand on the rise, they expect to prepare meals for around 1300 families... who otherwise wouldn't have a well–fed holiday.
ECHO Board member Diane Deeren says, "If you're working the line where they pick up their food, many people will go out of their way to thank you for allowing them to be able to have this extra food at Thanksgiving."
In order to meet that demand, ECHO is asking for cash donations from the public, as well as volunteers to help prepare the meals and work in the food shelf itself.
