The Mankato Department of Public Safety teamed up with Eagle Lake's fire department for the training burn. Officials set multiple fires to the house throughout the day. The Deputy Director of the Mankato Department of Public Safety says, these burns are extremely important for his teams training. Bengtson says, "Fires are fortunately not that common and so when we can do some actual live scenario training with a real structure like this, the training is invaluable."
This house was donated to fire officials. Authorities say these donations not only help the fire department but also give homeowners an inexpensive home demolishing alternative.
