MANKATO , MINN. -

The Vietnam Veterans' Memorial was by far the most popular stop on the tour. This afternoon, North Mankato mayor Mark Dehen spoke at the ceremony. Dehen says Minnesota has a strong history of serving the country whenever called upon. Dehen says, "Minnesota National Guard was one of the first ones to serve in the civil war. They've always stepped forward in all the conflicts and so we have a long rich history of service for our country."

Dehen says attending these ceremonies is an important way of showing his gratitude for all the sacrifices veterans have made. The memorial tour wrapped up this evening at the Nicollet American Legion.
