All across the nation, people are honoring those who are or have sacrificed for our freedom. To say thank you, Hy-Vee is giving area veterans a special treat.
Both Mankato Hy-Vee stores treating anyone with military service to a complete breakfast buffet this morning... free of charge. Organizers say it's a simple token of gratitude. Downtown Hy-Vee Kitchen Manager, Mark Delozier, said, "Just to thank everybody that has served our country and that this is just a small bit of what we can do for them."
In Mankato, managers estimate 800 hometown heroes were treated and more than 75,000 at all Hy-Vee stores combined.
