Formal charges are filed Friday against a 21 year old Lake Crystal man accused of sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl.
A criminal complaint says William Marcus Daniel Edwards convinced a girl to go back to his apartment on Tuesday (11/13) night. That's when the victim claims Edwards choked his victim until she passed out.
Investigators say Edwards admitted to having sex with the girl five times that night. Edwards is facing five felony counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Each count carries with it a maximum 30 years in prison and $40,000 dollar fine.
His next court appearance is scheduled for December 6th.
