If you plan to run with the pack on Black Friday in Mankato you'll have plenty of company, and among that company will be police officers.
The Best Buy store in Mankato has hired several Mankato Department of Public Safety officers to be at the store.
The store's general manager says authorities will be on-hand when the doors open at midnight, and will be standing by throughout the day.
"Customer safety is the number one priority," said store general manager Anna Brandts. "We want to make sure everybody has an enjoyable shopping experience--that they feel secure when they're in the store, prior to open, and after open as well."
Store spokespeople say they are expecting a big rush to the door here in Mankato on Black Friday. Barricades will be in place to assist with crowd control outside the building.
