This holiday weekend the MSU Maverick football team will makehistory when they host Northwest Missouri State in the super regional threetournament. And while the big game is just a couple days away, that doesn'tmean the Maverick football team has forgotten about Thanksgiving.
Coaches and players who couldn't make it home had athanksgiving feast of their own at Busters in Mankato. With practice Thursday andthe game on Saturday, players who call Florida or California their home stillgot a chance to have some turkey with their football family, and of coursewatch some football on TV.
MSU Acting Head Coach Aaron Keen says, "They're veryhappy to be here on Thanksgiving weekend, playing a home game in the playoffs.It is something we worked really hard for and our guys are looking forward tothe opportunity, so they'll sacrifice a trip home to get a playoff win thisSaturday."
