Thanks to numerous donations including raising twice as much money during their "Give to the Max Day" the museum has now reached its halfway mark towards the goal. Program director Deb Johnson says, "I think the community is getting really excited about programming and activities and exhibits we have to offer here and I think that generation of excitement has really made people become more generous in their donations and I think everybody is getting really excited about the new building."
Now that it's getting colder out Johnson says even more kids are visiting the museum on the weekends. Today was 'super science Saturday' at the facility, in which kids built robots out of legos. Seven-year-old Alex Emery says, "It's always a long process when it comes to legos."
Tomorrow's programming will have a variety of artistic activities including: coffee filter art, water beads, and book making.
