Dean of Students and activities director, Justin Berg faces felony charges for stealing funds collected from school concessions and ticket sales. Police say they discovered Berg taking money from the safe where the funds were kept after installing a motion–activated camera. According to the complaint, when police confronted Berg on October 12th he admitted to taking money from the school for the past three weeks.
He's being charged with felony theft and felony theft of funds. If convicted Berg faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a thousand dollar fine for each count.
Berg's appearance was brief, saying little in court. He answered Judge Allison Krehbiel's questions in short simple statements, addressing her as ma'am. Berg and his lawyer were not available for comment. His rule eight hearing and omnibus trial are set for January 8th at 10:15a.m.
